The Fremantle Harbour is being dredged to “improve” our economy. The dredging is stirring up dangerous chemicals, such as lead, asbestos and fertiliser. The toxic plume has spread out into the Indian Ocean and threatens our beaches. Today we were told that toxins have reached the popular Cottesloe Beach, and that as a result, all beaches will be closed. Dolphins and other marine life are washing up dead. Yet, the Port Authority continue to deny that anything is wrong.
